Assignment 3: 3D Animation Production

Hello Friends, in this assignment we are going to create our own stop motion animation video.  We have already completed our summary and report about stop motion animation which has helped me a lot to learn about stop motion animation.  Although this is an individual assignment I am going to take some help from one of my fellow friends while filming because I am doing the role of character/model in my animation video.

Inspiration and Idea:  While doing my report I researched some of the stop motion clips created by last year students.  I also searched some of the beginner and professional stop motion animation videos on the YouTube.  Most of them were clay animation.  After watching a couple of videos I found a video named “The Magic Box” which inspired me a lot to make a stop motion animation video along with some magic.  The video is given below:

I am going to use a deck of Bicycle playing cards on my video.  I myself will do the part of a magician.  My main aim of my video will be provide an entertainment to the viewers.  I am mixing some card tricks on my video which in my opinion will make the video more interesting.  I will use different sound effects and tracks to make my animation video more realistic.

Frame per second:  While doing the research about “How to make a stop motion animation video?”  I found that most of the professional animators use 24 frames per second on their video for smoothness of their animation but in my case I am just a beginner learner so I’ll do 12 frames per second.  12 frames for second produce a simple illusion and create a beautiful flow in my animation.
Problems and Limitations:  The main problem I have to face during my animation period is “Time Limit”.  I have to make my video time really stable.  Our animation video should be of minimum 1 minute, and we also can’t make our video too long which can make our viewers feel bore.  Our video should be neither too short nor too long.  I am planning for a 2-3 minute animation.  I am filming my video with a mobile phone which is one of the few problems I have to face while making my animation.  Final Cut Express takes more time to render the video which is captured from mobile phones.

To avoid other problems and injuries we should follow the college’s health and safety rules.  Handling the equipment properly, following the rules of college falls under it.
